Senior Skilled Vehicle & Plant Technician needed in Stoke Paying £25 per hr ref 5249725 Full time hours on a temporary basis Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs Carry out inspections, servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a full range of vehicles, HGVs, plant machinery and specialist equipment to required safety and quality standards. Diagnostics & Fault-Finding Use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults efficiently. Plant & Equipment Expertise Service and repair a variety of plant including excavators, loaders, compactors, sweepers, grounds maintenance equipment and other machinery as required. Workshop Leadership Support day‑to‑day workshop operations, assist with planning workloads, and provide guidance, mentoring and support to junior technicians and apprentices. Compliance & Safety Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety standards, manufacturer guidance and industry regulations. Record Keeping Complete accurate job sheets, inspection reports and maintenance logs, ensuring all documentation meets required compliance standards. Parts & Tools Management Identify and order parts, ensure effective tool control, and contribute to maintaining a well‑organised workshop environment. Breakdowns & Call-Outs Respond to vehicle or plant breakdowns, carrying out on-site repairs where necessary to minimise downtime. Continuous Improvement Support improvements in maintenance practices, contribute ideas for better efficiency and reliability, and stay updated on new technologies and equipment.
