Eden Brown Synergy are working with a Local Authority on North London who are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager in their Environment & Communities Team on a permanent basis.
The salary is paying up to £68,265 per annum.
The Authority offers hybrid working.
The Role:

A vacancy has arisen in the Finance Business Partnering team for a Finance Manager to lead on the financial support provided to the Council and senior management in respect of Environment and Communities. The role reports to the Head of Finance and is the finance lead supporting these service areas, whilst overseeing a team of 5 staff.
Key deliverables and responsibilities of the role are:
* Provide expert financial advice and support to the Environment and Communities Directorate in the provision of accurate and timely financial information including developing strategic financial plans, budget setting, financial reporting and supporting and challenging decision making.
* To provide information using analysis that clearly presents the financial performance, cost drivers, levers for change and implications to senior management and non-financial staff. To go beyond the financial information, explore what operations or activities lead to the financial outputs and hence understand the service in-depth.
* To work closely with finance colleagues to support corporate reporting and other requirements including contributing to the overall budget process, financial monitoring, closure of accounts and service wide initiatives and improvements.
* Ensuring robust financial controls, processes and accurate record keeping. Leading on continuous service improvement.
* Staff support and management.
Essential Criteria
* To be suitable for the role you should be able to demonstrate strong business partnering skills, commercial acumen and an in-depth understanding of the finance and funding requirements of the Environment and Communities functions within a local authority.
* Candidates must have recent local government experience and of working in Environment and Communities or Place finance teams.
* Candidates are also required to have previous Staff Management Experience
* Candidates must be fully qualified accountants CCAB or CIMA
Given the seniority of the role we would expect candidates to be fully qualified accountants, or at final stage with an expectation to be fully qualified within 6 months of joining.
For this role there is an expectation to be in the office on a regular basis to meet business needs including attendance at key departmental meetings.
