Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Cannock, United Kingdom
Working hours: 08:00am- 16:30pm (Monday- Friday)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join the team in Cannock. The Health and Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Duties include the following:
· Manage the Technical Function and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and all regulatory Bodies.
· Ensure clearly defined, documented quality, technical processes, procedures and controls exist and to identify and deal with non-conformances promptly and ensure that remedial actions required are put in place.
· Reporting of technical performance of the customer, both internally and externally. Ensuring relevant internal personnel are fully aware of technical status and issues which require their input to improve.
· Provision of technical guidance and support to customers and other departments, developing awareness and understanding of technical issues relating to the customer.
· Working with Customers / Statutory Bodies to implement legislation and standards. Providing information required during factory visits and audits, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
· Work closely with the Production department, Service Departments and warehouse to drive improvement in technical standards and performance (product, process and environmental).
· Managing all aspects of health and safety: - new starter inductions, risk assessments, fire management, first aiders, staff well-being, housekeeping inspections, training, RAMs, coordinating annual health surveillance checks etc. and reporting on H&S performance to senior management.
· Complete, monitor and reviewing of all risk assessments, COSHH assessments and supporting the internal audit process.
· Ensure visit/audit reports are completed for customer meetings and monitor that the site has addressed and closed out the Non-Conformances promptly. Ensure all letters of complaint are dealt with correctly and efficiently to meet KPI’s.
· Investigating accidents and incidents to determine their causes and make appropriate recommendations for improvements and preventative measures.
· Coordinate regular housekeeping inspections, and active monitoring of the process in the company with the aim for continual improvements to meet customer and legislative requirements.
· Authoring of safety data sheets, Analysis of chemical results/trends and determination of corrective action / preventative measures as required. Ensure this meets the customer and legislative requirements whilst meeting budgetary needs.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
· Degree / relevant qualification in Chemistry or related science-based discipline.
· Good awareness/working knowledge of the GHS/CLP System (Classification & labelling)
· Experience of SDS/e-SDS authoring or keen to learn (Company has in house commercial SDS software)
· Good awareness/working knowledge of the REACH Regulations
· Qualified DGSA desired (or willingness/desire to achieve qualification)
· Experience/working knowledge of the COSHH Regulations (Risk Assessments)
· Good awareness/working knowledge of COMAH regulations
· Proven experience in understanding Technical Support Functions, liaison with technical bodies to apply best practice techniques and standards
· Level 3 Qualified in occupational Health & Safety Management/Good current knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations
