Overview
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists for this part‑time position. Candidates with an IBMS accredited Biomedical Science BSc (Hons) or similar, and HCPC registration are also considered. Newly graduated candidates, if successful, will be required to complete their Specialist Portfolio prior to progression to Band 6.
Qualifications
• HCPC registration and biomedical science degree (IBMS accredited) (BSc Hons or equivalent)
Responsibilities
* Rotate through various sections within the department and cover the 24/7 laboratory service following suitable training.
* Work a average of 28.8 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and overnight shifts when trained.
* Maintain the core, special investigations, and blood banks laboratories, ensuring the latest equipment remains operational.
* Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and support further study.
Training & Career Path
Successful new graduates will complete their Specialist Portfolio, thereafter progressing to Band 6. The department is UKAS accredited and IBMS approved for Biomedical Scientist training.
Working Hours & Compensation
Working hours are 28.8 per week on average and are pro‑rated for part‑time. Pay is adjusted to reflect the new Agenda for Change full‑time working week changes.
