About The Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Group People Advisor & Policy Lead to join our People Team. This is a varied, group‑wide role combining hands‑on HR support with ownership of policy development and governance across the Barons Eden Group.
You’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality HR support throughout the employee lifecycle while ensuring our policies remain compliant, consistent, and aligned with our culture and values. This role offers the opportunity to influence both operational HR delivery and strategic policy development across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
People Support
* Providing expert HR guidance to managers across the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, onboarding, and off‑boarding
* Maintaining accurate HR records, trackers, and systems in line with GDPR requirements
* Producing and analysing HR metrics (e.g. absence, turnover, headcount) to support decision‑making
* Supporting employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
* Coordinating HR meetings, including agenda preparation and minute‑taking
* Providing administrative support to the People Team, including organisational charts and purchase orders
* Supporting redundancy processes and consultations
* Administering employee benefits and payroll‑related submissions (e.g. bonuses, awards, referrals)
* Supporting performance review processes and providing guidance to managers on appraisal systems
Policy Design & Development
* Drafting, reviewing, and maintaining HR policies in line with employment legislation and best practice
* Recommending policy improvements and new initiatives to senior management
* Developing supporting guidance, templates, and communications
* Providing advice on policy interpretation and application
* Partnering with HR leadership to ensure fairness, consistency, and cultural alignment
* Supporting the rollout of policy updates through training and communication
Health & Safety
* Maintaining awareness of Health & Safety requirements within People processes
* Understanding and adhering to fire and evacuation procedures
Essential
About You
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Have excellent organisation and attention to detail
* Have the ability to analyse data and solve complex problems
* Have a good understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment law
* Be proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems
* Have the ability to work independently and across multiple sites
* Be professional, proactive, and highly confidential in approach
* Hold a CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
Desirable
* Have experience in a multi‑site or hospitality environment
* Have experience with digital HR systems and policy platforms
* Have knowledge of employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
* Have demonstrable experience in policy development
Additional Information
* Salary: £29,000 - £33,000
* 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday (0830‑1700hrs)
* Due to some rural locations and the need for site visits, candidates must have access to their own vehicle
