We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspirational Teacher of Sociology to join our successful and supportive Humanities/Social Sciences department at our school in Sevenoaks.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to teach Sociology at Key Stage 5, helping students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and an understanding of contemporary social issues. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering engaging lessons, achieving excellent outcomes, and contributing positively to the wider life of the school.
The Role
The successful applicant will:
* Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons
* Monitor and support student progress to ensure excellent achievement
* Contribute to curriculum development within the department
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Participate fully in the wider life of the school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in Sociology or a related subject
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Sociology
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
* The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
