Construction Contract Manager : Automation Projects

Our Birmingham-based client specializes in bespoke automation and materials handling solutions for major UK companies. Due to ongoing success and strategic expansion, they are seeking a Construction Contract Manager : Automation Projects to join their project team.
The successful candidate will maintain communication with site managers, staff, and clients to ensure smooth operations and consistent service delivery. Responsibilities include managing quality assurance protocols, ensuring projects stay on time and within budget, and overseeing client-facing deliverables. The role also involves expanding the client portfolio by identifying new service opportunities and initiating industry discussions.
Responsibilities
* Develop budgetary cost documents for potential Principal Contractor projects, ensuring compliance with legislation and project requirements.
* Manage projects from a Principal Contractor perspective, including budget management, weekly client updates, site visits, and meetings.
* Coordinate health and safety activities on-site, balancing contractor and client needs.
* Develop CDM legal documentation such as the Construction Phase H&S Plan, TMPs, and Fire Safety Plans.
* Ensure deliverables match agreements and manage project scope to prevent financial overruns.
* Manage supplier and labor contracts related to the project.
* Compile and distribute H&S File Information / O&M Manuals at project completion.
Additional duties may include acting as an H&S resource for related divisions.
Qualifications include NEBOSH Certificate Level 3 (General or Construction), SMSTS training, and APS membership. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of construction industry experience, strong commercial awareness, and skills in budgeting, conflict management, project management, and negotiation.
