Overview
Associate Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Team Derby. This role contributes to the growth of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and involves delivering innovative teaching across areas including Control and Instrumentation, Industrial Electronics and Automation, Power Electronic Application, Intelligent Instrumentation Systems, Digital Signal Processing, and Modern Control Systems.
Responsibilities
* Formal scheduled delivery of teaching, lectures or workshops.
* Preparation of teaching materials and reading lists.
* Keeping university records and submitting marks and notes to the module leader for assessment boards.
* Contribution to assessment design, marking, moderation and electronic submission of marks as required.
* Supervision of doctoral research and tutorials; student support and independent studies supervision.
* Participation in relevant boards/meetings and compliance with Health & Safety and university documentation.
About You / Qualifications
* Essential: A first degree in a discipline appropriate to the subject area or equivalent professional experience; experience of working in an industry related to the discipline being taught; ability to teach at the appropriate level; good presentation and communication skills; ability to inspire and motivate students; ability to relate theory to practice; ability to work to deadlines; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Desirable: Master’s degree in relevant subject area; HE teaching experience including small group facilitation; sound knowledge of teaching at HE level.
Hours, Location and Timetable
The typical teaching timetable runs 09:00–17:00, primarily at Markeaton Street campus with potential travel to other locations. Hours and days will be described in a Schedule of Work.
Salary
Salary range from £16.51 - £41.29 per hour. The lower rate applies to non-teaching scheduled work; the higher rate includes teaching time and prep/marking/admin.
