Anderson Knight is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded and fast-growing organisation based in West Dunbartonshire. We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic and supportive finance team on behalf of our confidential client.

This role offers hybrid working (after probation) and a competitive salary of up to £30,000 per annum.
The Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of preparing and delivering essential financial reports. You’ll collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of vessel accounting.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare management accounts and funding reports for key clients
* Perform variance analysis (Actuals vs Budget) in collaboration with budget holders
* Liaise with the operations team to produce vessel commentary
* Communicate directly with clients to resolve queries
* Manage general ledger accounts for assigned vessels
* Complete month-end balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist with internal stakeholder reconciliations
* Create/process bank payments and perform reconciliations
* Maintain purchase orders and accruals
* Support with ad hoc tasks for both clients and internal management
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Background in a finance function with general ledger experience
* Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting software
* High attention to detail and strong time management
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
* A flexible, proactive and solutions-focused mindset
* Experience preparing accounts to trial balance
Desirable:
* Experience in client reporting or management accounting
* A continuous improvement mindset with a desire to progress and learn
