The Role:
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Tutor to deliver face to face, daytime tuition for A SEND student based within the BS21 area. This part-time position involves supporting a student at KS3 and KS4 for 18 hours per week during school hours (09:00 – 15:00) term-time only.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and curriculum-aligned KS3 and KS4 across Core subjects
* Provide personalised support for a student with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to meet their individual learning needs. The student has an EHCP.
* Work collaboratively with parents, healthcare professionals, and local authorities to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
* Monitor student progress and provide detailed feedback to stakeholders as required.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a teacher who is:
* Passionate about teaching and inspiring engagement in learning across a range of subjects.
* A tutor who is experienced and confident in supporting students with complex SEND needs, specifically Pathological Demand Avoidance and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
* Professional, reliable, and meticulous in lesson planning and delivery.
* Adaptable to the needs of the individual students and alternative provision settings.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Minimum of Level 1 Safeguarding Training (CPD-approved).
* Strong experience working with children with SEND.
* Minimum BSc/BA degree in your specialist subject(s)
* Enhanced DBS check is mandatory
* At least 2 years' experience tutoring/teaching core subjects, ideally in a 1:1 or small-group setting.
* Availability to work 18 hours per week (within normal school hours), term-time only.
