What you'll be doing:
Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including Journals and reconciliations where required
Maintains organised and up-to-date financial records and documentation
Adheres to deadlines for regular financial tasks and reporting
Develops knowledge of accounting software and systems used by Veolia UK
Seeks opportunities for professional development and stays current with accounting practices
Help develop and report the Green up strategy. "Green Up Booster area
Assists in training new team members on financial systems and processes
Supports the Hazardous waste finance team with reconciliations, management accounts and special projects
Collaborates with other departments to gather necessary financial information
Communicates effectively with colleagues to resolve discrepancies or obtain clarification on financial matters
Assists in preparing financial reports for management review
Participates in team meetings and contributes ideas for process improvements
Responds to basic inquiries from customers regarding payment status or account information
Assists in preparing financial documentation for external auditors when required
Maintains a professional demeanour in all interactions with external parties
Provides support to various departments by assisting with reporting and reconciliations
Assists employees with questions on accounting policies
Support senior accountant in gathering data for budgeting and forecasting processes
Helps prepare financial information for internal stakeholders as requested by supervisors
Assists in basic data entry and record-keeping of sustainability-related financial transactions.
Supports the preparation of simple sustainability reports by gathering and organising relevant financial data, and helps maintain files and documentation related to the company's environmental and green accounting activities.
Potential Travel to Sites including but not limited to Four ashes and Liverpool
What we're looking for:
Essential
Working toward AAT or equivalent
Maths and English GCSE
Full UK driver's licenc
Desirable
Workday software experience
