Job Description
As our Fleet Ambassador, your key responsibility is to ensure all vehicles are checked for condition and roadworthiness, adhering to legal, corporate image, and operational standards. Exceptions must be reported via the vehicle check app and defect procedures.
You will ensure drivers identify and report defects correctly, conduct start and end of contract handovers for leased vehicles, and support depot operations through regular site and equipment checks. Additionally, you will report fleet accidents on our portal TranMan.
Key Daily Checks
* Check all fleet vehicles daily and record their condition via the Vehicle App.
* Ensure all 3.5 Tonne Vans do not exceed weight limits using the weighbridge.
* VOR (vehicle off road) vehicles should be reported if damage or defects are found.
* Check all related equipment, including material handling tools, jump packs, fuel pumps, and enclosures.
* Adhere to health and safety rules, ensuring clear traffic flow and effective parking.
* Ensure drivers wear correct DPD uniforms and that vans are clean and maintained to company standards.
Key Weekly Checks
* Record damage notices on the app and update a shared Google Calendar.
* Review outstanding notices with the Depot Quality Manager or Depot Manager.
* Conduct weekly fleet checks, including discrepancies and stock levels for items like lamps and bulbs.
* Ensure winter equipment like gritters are operational and report defects.
