About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Geography Teacher to join our secondary school team, delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success in the classroom, excellent subject knowledge, and the ability to inspire students to develop a deep understanding of the world around them. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a thriving humanities department and play a key role in shaping the geography curriculum and student oues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and challenging geography lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, including preparation for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
2. Plan and implement a curriculum that promotes geographical enquiry, critical thinking, and global awareness.
3. Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide effective feedback.
4. Support students of all abilities, including those with additional needs and those aiming for top grades.
5. Contribute to curriculum development, fieldwork planning, and enrichment activities.
6. Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives.
7. Maintain high standards of behaviour, classroom management, and student engagement.
Person Specification:Essentials:
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
9. A degree in Geography or a closely related subject.
10. Significant experience teaching geography at secondary level, including GCSE and A-Level.
11. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for geography education.
12. Excellentmunication, planning, and organisational skills.
13. Amitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Desirable:
14. Experience leading fieldwork or geography-related trips.
15. Familiarity with current educational research and best practices in geography teaching.
16. Ability to contribute to cross-curricular projects or whole-school initiatives.
