Role Overview
The Systems Developer role is a hands‑on position that works closely with business stakeholders to develop and maintain our end‑to‑end Mortgage Ecosystem. The role includes day‑to‑day business as usual support for the live environment and project‑focused innovation to drive product development.
Key Responsibilities
* Consult with senior stakeholders to translate business change requests into technical requirements.
* Manage tickets for the Originations Mortgage platform and the Mortgage Retentions platform.
* Develop a solid understanding of the designs being built.
* Plan, coordinate and execute deployments across environments, ensuring minimal downtime.
* Support tertiary services that integrate with the mortgage platforms and collaborate with other technical teams and third parties.
* Write and maintain technical knowledge‑base articles and troubleshooting guides.
* Ensure consistent service quality and adherence to internal standards, including Technical Change Management and Incident Management.
* Participate in incident response activities, delivering timely resolution and communication.
* Understand the change‑management process and apply it to work.
* Collaborate on cross‑functional projects and maintain awareness of regulatory obligations.
Requirements
* Advanced knowledge of programming languages and development methodologies.
* Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, JSON and XML.
* Strong use‑case development skills and the ability to produce accurate estimates.
* Comprehensive SDLC experience: Analyse, Design, Develop, Test, Deploy, Monitor, Optimise.
* Performance analysis skills and appropriate toolsets.
* Experience with incident management and change‑control processes.
* Experience working in Agile (SCRUM) projects.
* Highly numerical and literate, with excellent written specifications.
* Experience in Financial Services, preferably in the Mortgage industry.
* Excellent analytical skills.
