Overview
Essential criteria include a keen interest, clinical experience, leadership, advanced communications skills and a flexible approach is prerequisite. You will need to have a vision to implement service improvement initiatives, to drive the services forward as part of the Acute Management team. The successful candidate will work full time (37.5hrs) Monday to Friday and will be included in the Acute Managers on call cover. The post covers services that are spread across the city. Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of high standards of safe patient care in line with National guidance.
* Monitor and implement local management and treatment protocols and pathways.
* Promote further development and influence high quality clinical practice.
* Work autonomously, multitask and be self-organised within the Acute Management team.
* Deliver clinical Occupational Therapy alongside band 5 and band 6 OTs where appropriate; hold a complex caseload and work with multi professional colleagues to develop and embed an integrated clinical model.
* Contribute to promoting a therapeutic environment to support recovery, discharge planning and improvement of physical health.
* Be involved in on‑call arrangements and participate in service development to shape the future of acute services.
Qualifications and experience
* Keen interest in Acute Care in mental health and the role of Occupational Therapy in an acute mental health setting.
* Clinical leadership and the ability to drive service improvement initiatives.
* Good communication skills and ability to influence clinical practice.
* Ability to work within a team and in partnership with nursing colleagues and other AHPs.

* All successful applicants will complete the Trust induction programme; the Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format (approx. 9–14 hours depending on post) by the end of the second week.
