Our Internal Audit & Risk Team is growing and is searching for candidates for the position of Senior Internal Auditor What will be expected from me? Reporting to either the Principal Audit Manager or Service Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the effective delivery of a modern and professional internal audit service that is insightful, proactive and adds value to Wakefield Council. What I might be doing? Undertaking internal audit assurance and advice to directorates within the Council and our external clients. Delivering a diverse workload, providing an excellent opportunity to interact with different services. Building and maintaining effective relationships with officers at different levels within the Council and our external clients. Undertaking work to professional standards whilst keeping up to date with changes within the internal audit and local government sector through continual professional development. What can I expect? Essential requirements: AAT qualified, or higher (e.g., chartered accountant or certified/chartered internal auditor). An active member of your professional body. An understanding of the concepts of internal auditing. Ability to deliver work to agreed timescales, budget, and quality.
