Overview
Experienced vet with a love for surgery to take a next step and assist the practice owners in leading the other vets. The role has a surgical bias but will also involve consults and all other aspects of being a general practice vet. The practice has recently moved to a new location with facilities including a CT scanner and a rehabilitation centre with hydrotherapy and physiotherapy.
Responsibilities
* Daily duties can include a general practitioner role of consults, routine surgeries, dentals, and case management across investigations including CT, with a stronger weighting towards surgery
* Provide a high standard of clinical care to clients and patients, ensuring compliance and encouraging a progressive clinical culture
* Demonstrate a strong client focus, delivering exceptional care across the client journey
* Support the team and help develop skills where required
What we are looking for / Qualifications
* RCVS registered with a minimum of 5 years UK experience
* Experienced in surgery with confidence in routine surgeries and a proactive approach to clinical leadership
* Team player with good communication skills
About Us
We are a small animal practice established in 2009, recently expanded following relocation and extension of facilities. Our purpose-built premises include an on-site CT scanner, rehabilitation centre with hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, a dental radiography suite, 7 consult rooms, two theatres, diagnostic imaging and ultrasound, an internal laboratory, and gold standard hospital wards. We promote fear-free handling and have Silver Status in Cat Friendly and Rabbit Friendly accreditation.
Working hours and Benefits
Full-time role preferred; part-time or flexible options possible. No OOH, Sundays or Bank holidays. 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am–12pm). Salary up to £80,000 depending on experience. Benefits include funded RCVS/VDS subscriptions, CPD and certificates, holidays, pension, private health care, and PAH colleague benefits. Working week can be created to suit individual needs.
