Childrens Social Work at Lincolnshire County Council
Our Childrens Social Work teams receive an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. The most recent inspection in April 2023 confirmed this judgement. We are proud of the progress and development our teams achieve.
Our Practice Model
The practice model is "Signs of Safety" and is underpinned by a firm commitment to restorative practice, working in a way that honours the strengths of the family and their network. Families are supported to develop their own solutions, and the voice of the child is central to every plan.
About the Role of a Level 1 Social Worker
As a Level 1 Social Worker, you will manage a range of cases from assessment to ongoing interventions, leading each case from start to finish so that children and families experience consistency in their support. Your responsibilities include working directly with children, young people, and their families, as well as collaborating with other stakeholders and partners to build a brighter future for those in Lincolnshire. You will also assist with more complex caseloads alongside experienced Social Workers, ensuring you make the right decisions when it matters most.
About the Role of a Newly Qualified Social Worker
Our ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) programme is a protected year of work that reduces workload to allow time for learning and development. The programme includes supportive supervision: weekly supervision for the first six weeks, fortnightly until the mid‑point review at six months, and monthly thereafter. You will receive critical reflection logs, formal personal supervision, and participate in monthly group learning. You will also be observed on multiple occasions to involve service users and carers in your assessment.
About Our Offer
We provide a supportive, caring, and compassionate team environment. You will receive monthly formal professional and case supervision, participate in monthly group learning and team meetings, and have an annual team development day. Managers are available to support practice and professional development.
We require fluent spoken English in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016. We are a Disability Confident employer, offering interviews to suitable applicants with disabilities and supporting them throughout the recruitment process.
Your continued professional development is a priority. You will have access to the Social Work Theory app, in‑house training, and fully funded PQ modules.
