Job description

The Opportunity:
* Conduct full examinations of vehicles, including electronic vehicle health checks.
* Identify non‑routine defects and faults either in the workshop or during vehicle road tests.
* Undertake timely repair and servicing of customer vehicles in accordance with technical standards.
* Provide a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all colleagues and workshop customers.
* Work closely with the front‑of‑house service team, ensuring they are kept informed of the progress on customer vehicles and are fully briefed on work completed.
* Discuss technical issues/works directly with customers when requested.
* Offer technical advice and support to workshop apprentices.
* Work with the wider workshop team to design and implement new methods of work to improve efficiency.

Hendy Induction – please be advised that any new starters joining the business from 1 June will, in their first week, be expected to attend a structured induction programme that will involve 2 days at our training academy in Portsmouth. More details will be shared at interview.
About You:
* Experienced Vehicle Technician (ideally from a main dealer/franchise environment).
* Relevant formal qualification (NVQ Level 3 / IMI / City & Guilds).
* Ability to work within defined processes and guidelines, and to promote best practice throughout the workshop.
* Customer‑focused; possess good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to a non‑technical audience.
* First‑time fix mentality.
* Committed to the development of technical knowledge and skills.
* Team player, whether mentoring or supporting other technicians.
* MOΤ licence would be highly advantageous, but not essential.
* Confident driver with a full UK driving license.
* Passion for the industry and desire to succeed.
