Data Privacy Manager
Rate: £41.50 - £49 per hour PAYE basic excluding holiday pay or £55 - £65 Umbrella including holiday pay
Location - Burgess Hill (Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite)
Contract - 6 months
About the Role
As the Data Privacy Manager, you will be instrumental in driving our client's commitment to data privacy and compliance. You will implement and maintain a robust local privacy framework, ensuring adherence to all applicable privacy legislation. Key Responsibilities
* Framework Implementation: Establish and maintain a local privacy framework that meets compliance standards.
* Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate local privacy risks effectively.
* Community Engagement: Be a strong voice in the data privacy community, participating in forums and driving positive change.
* Advisory Role: Provide expert guidance on data protection issues, including contract reviews and new projects.
* Training & Awareness: Lead local data privacy initiatives and training programs to ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies.
* Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain local SOPs and work instructions, overseeing daily compliance queries and documentation.
What We're Looking For
* Education: Degree educated (or equivalent).
* Experience: Proven experience in data privacy or a related field, with a solid understanding of EU GDPR, UK GDPR, and the Data Protection Act 2018.
* Certifications: CIPP certification or equivalent is desirable.
* Leadership Skills: Experience in managing projects and influencing stakeholders at various organisational levels.
* Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong ability to assess risks and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
* Integrity & Ethics: High ethical standards, given the sensitive nature of the information handled.
