Job Summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic Senior Paediatric Audiologists to join our expanding team in Hounslow. One full‑time (37.5 hours) and one part‑time (30 hours) position. The role will involve autonomous practitioner duties in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of a diverse paediatric caseload. You will carry out comprehensive audiological assessments and provide habilitation for our paediatric population, including those with complex needs. The role requires experience in a paediatric setting and registration with the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS).
Sites: Heart of Hounslow Health Centre, Feltham Centre for Health, Chiswick Health Centre.
The service is IQIPS accredited and has been assessed by NHS England and the NWL Integrated Care Board.
Main Duties
* Provide comprehensive audiological assessments and hearing aid provision to children with complex needs.
* Communicate effectively with parents and professionals.
* Support efficient service delivery and organise hearing assessments for children with special needs in schools.
* Assist in gathering departmental performance data, develop clinical pathways and manage patient systems such as Auditbase.
* Manage the referral process to other agencies (GPs, ENT, Paediatrics).
* Supervise junior staff; support their training and development.
* Support the Team Lead and Clinical Service Manager in maintaining IQIPS accreditation.
* Participate in audit programmes and ongoing development of new techniques and technology.
* Ensure a family‑friendly approach permeates all contact between audiology services and Deaf / Hard of Hearing children and families.
* Deal with equipment faults, arrange repairs in line with departmental and manufacturer guidelines.
* Maintain stock levels, records and conduct stock taking.
Qualifications
* Degree level or equivalent education in Audiology; MSc in Audiology OR Parts I and II BAAT and Certificate for higher training (Paediatric).
* Evidence of CPD.
* Voluntary register with AHCS.
Desirable Qualifications
* BSc in Audiology with Certificate of higher training (Paediatric).
* Deaf awareness training.
* CAC or CCC.
Experience
* 3 years in an NHS audiology department.
* 1 year as a paediatric audiologist.
* Experience aiding children using NHSP/BAA protocols.
* Experience working with deaf families and culture.
Desirable Experience
* Behavioural, rehabilitation and electrophysiological assessment.
* Experience with newborn hearing screening programme.
* Experience working with a cochlear implant team.
* Electrophysiological assessment for young babies.
* Experience of peer reviews.
