Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor / EHS Specialist

Contract Type: Fixed term contract until end of 2026
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (pro rata)

Purpose of the Role
To provide expert Health & Safety guidance, support, and documentation across the organisation, ensuring compliance with UK and EU legislation and promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Advise the Management Team on all Health & Safety matters.
Review, approve, and maintain H&S policies, procedures, work instructions, and safe systems of work.
Monitor and interpret H&S legislation, regulations, HSE guidance, and Approved Codes of Practice, ensuring effective implementation.
Develop, review, and maintain Risk Assessments, COSHH and REACH Assessments in line with legal requirements.
Establish and monitor controls to ensure compliance with the H&S programme.
Compile H&S activity reports and performance statistics.
Provide H&S information, instruction, and training as required.
Oversee day‑to‑day H&S arrangements, including inspections, equipment maintenance, and risk assessment processes.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring follow‑up actions are completed.
Act as Chairperson for the H&S Committee.
Ensure adequate provision and training for Laser Safety, First Aid, and Fire Marshal responsibilities.Person Specification
Essential
Proven experience maintaining a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety legislation.
Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within a Manufacturing/Production organisation.
Strong knowledge of HASAWA and associated regulations.
High attention to detail and diligence.
Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong IT and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent). Desirable
Experience working as a Site EHS professional.
