The Tactical Operations Centre are looking for a dynamic, reliable and trustworthy individual to join an established and friendly team based in Chelmsford EOC's Tactical Operations Centre as an Incident Command Desk Supervisor.

The role of the ICD Supervisor is to screen incoming incidents to the EOC alongside crew requests for HART to determine if a specialist response is required, and proactively deploy Commanders, HART and other specialist assets to deliver the best clinical care to patients. The ICD Supervisor is also responsible for actively managing higher risk, sensitive, or critical incidents alongside the Duty Tactical Commander.

Main duties of the job

Review incoming calls to the EOC and crew requests for HART for potential HART deployment.

Dispatch of HART, SORT, Commanders and other specialist assets.

Liaise with HART Team Leaders, Commanders, Resilience & Specialsit Operations Managers, partner agencies and the Duty Tactical Commander to support the effective resolution of incidents.

Take over higher risk, sensitive, critical, or complex incidents from the local dispatch desk and actively manage the incident through to a successful conclusion, working effectively with partner agencies to ensure a coordinated, effective and safe resposne.

Work effectively with a range of partner organisations - including other emergency services - in line with the JESIP principles, to ensure shared situational awareness and effective inter-agency working.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Demonstrate and uphold the values of EEAST at all times.

Work effectively with the Operational Delivery Manager, Tactical Assistant & Duty Tactical Commander as part of a cohesive TOC Team.

Ensure the correct signing-on, accurate status updating and effective dispatch of HART, SORT, Commanders and other specialist assets.

Analyse incidents, gather appropriate information, and make reasoned and logical decisions about asset deployment in line with national and local guidelines.

Effectively brief responding assets and commanders.

Maintain accurate logs and notes to justify and explain decisions made.

Communicate effectively with front-line crews, specialist assets, commanders, EOC colleagues, and partner agencies.

Make rapid, reasoned, effective, and justifiable decisions when managing incidents.

Manage complex, sensitive, difficult, specialist, or Critical Incidents effectively on behalf of the trust unless/until transferred to an Incident Coordination Cell.

Identify where Tactical Command is required and escalate appropriately to the Duty Tactical Commander.

Competently use Cleric CAD, the ARP LifeX Control Room Solution, telephony, and Microsoft products to work efficiently.

Embed the JESIP Principles of Co-location, Communication, Coordination, Joint understanding of risk and Shared Situational Awareness into incident management from the very start of the incident.

Take responsibility for own development and CPD.

Work a 24/7 shift pattern within the Control Room environment, including an element (currently 1 week in 6) of relief working - covering shifts dropped through leave/training/abstractions etc to maintain 24/7 coverage.
