Role Overview
ATG Group have an exciting opportunity for a HSE Advisor to join our team, based in our head office in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. This role is varied and includes collaboration with lots of different areas of the business. Our main business is environmental remediation and waste management, so our tasks include small-scale construction, operation of plant & machinery, use of chemicals and workplace transport.
We are certified to ISO 14001, 9001 and 45001, so part of the role will include feeding into the Integrated Management System, and helping to execute our existing policies and procedures. We also have began calculating and reporting our carbon footprint.
Duties
A few of the duties will include:
* Completion of site inspections and project audits to identify opportunities for improvement
* Incident investigations, including identification of root causes and implementation of corrective action
* Creation of task-specific risk and COSHH assessments, through consultation with workers and managers
* Review of risk assessment & method statements where necessary
* Ensuring the correct PPE and RPE is chosen, considering the tasks that are being completed
* Facilities management, including ensuring the fire alarms/emergency lighting/firefighting equipment is serviced and maintained
* Facilitation of quarterly Safety Meetings, highlighting recent incidents, changes to documentation and to offer a consultation space for operations staff
* Testing the existing plans and procedures, and making changes where required to improve or streamline efficiency and safety
* Supporting our charity, Ashes to Gold, with health and safety essentials
* Workplace equipment inspections
Criteria
The ideal candidate would have the following:
* Experience working with management system documentation
* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or other third-level H&S qualification
* Membership with a relevant professional body (IOSH, IIRSM etc) to communicate ongoing professional development
* Some knowledge of construction/plant safety
* Experience with investigation of incidents/near-misses

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.
