You would be working with utility surveyors, a STATs team, geophysicists, topographical surveyors, GI and pavements teams, working across a broad range of work areas including projects to support Power, Highways, Rail, Aviation and Defence sectors. About Our Team: Our Buried Utilities team is a growing team who operate across all sectors of the engineering industry, primarily in the UK but have had teams on site in almost all continents globally. We work under the umbrella of RAM (Rail Asset Management) which as well as specialist rail teams, includes cross discipline teams like Geophysics, GI and Geospatial Engineering. We are based primarily out of our Nottingham office where we have equipment, fleet and laboratory facilities to support our field operations. Our projects typically form small (but crucial) parts of the many major infrastructure projects which AECOM work on, primarily providing in-house surveys and investigations (but also providing management of contractors) and specialist advice with an emphasis on collaboration to provide our clients with solutions which best suit their needs. Your role: Your primary role will be to lead buried utility and utility avoidance surveys to PAS128 standards in compliance with AECOM guidance. The expectation is that you would perform site operations across the UK as part of a broader team. This would be balanced with office work, potentially including production of operational paperwork, data interpretation, CAD and written reports as well as supporting other teams where required. You would be expected to attain the position of site lead, providing safety briefings and managing your survey team, providing training to support staff and where necessary providing supervision of contractors.
