This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on leader with strong mechanical, operational, and commercial expertise to take ownership of projects across marine and heavy engineering environments.The RoleReporting to the General Manager, you will lead and develop the mechanical team across workshop, site, and project activities, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient, on time, and to the highest quality standards.You will also play a key role in:Estimating and quotation preparationOperational planning and labour allocationProject coordination and deliveryClient and subcontractor managementTeam leadership and developmentHealth, safety, and quality complianceSupporting business growth and identifying new opportunitiesKey ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical operations across multiple projectsPrepare accurate estimates, quotations, and costingsReview technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of workManage project budgets, timelines, and deliveryCoordinate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractorsBuild and maintain strong client relationshipsMentor and develop team members and supervisorsEnsure full compliance with HSE, quality, and company standardsAbout YouMinimum 5 years' experience in marine, mechanical engineering, ship repair, civil engineering, or maintenanceProven supervisory or management experienceStrong commercial awareness and estimating capabilityMechanical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experienceAbility to interpret technical drawings and specificationsExcellent organisational and communication skillsFull UK driving licenceDesirable:Marine or dockside mechanical systems experienceExperience in permit-controlled environments (confined spaces, hot works, etc.)Client facing project delivery experienceLocation: SouthamptonSalary: £60,000If you are an experienced Mechanical Manager looking to advance your career and contribute to exciting projects within the marine sector, we encourage you to apply now and join our client's dynamic team in Southampton.TPBN1_UKTJ
