Drive Efficiency with Hands-On Engineering Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking to step into a role where you can have real impact? At Tata Steel, we’re looking for an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our fast-paced, highly automated Steelpark facility. You'll work as part of a skilled, multi-disciplinary team responsible for keeping our production equipment operating safely, reliably and efficiently. This is a shift-based role working a 3-shift pattern, Monday to Friday. What you will do In this role, you’ll take ownership of both reactive and planned electrical maintenance across a range of process and auxiliary equipment. Your focus will be on reducing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting wider process improvement initiatives. Day-to-day, you’ll: Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding and repair Lead on preventative maintenance tasks to minimise unplanned downtime Log and track all work activities through our digital maintenance system (Pirana) Highlight emerging issues, propose corrective actions and contribute to root cause analysis Support a culture of continuous improvement and safe working practices You’ll be a key part of a collaborative engineering team, helping ensure we meet our production targets while operating at the highest safety and efficiency standards. What you will need To be considered for the Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer role, you’ll need: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant electrical discipline, or completion of a recognised apprenticeship Solid hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the confidence to work independently or as part of a team Good understanding of health and safety standards in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting Experience in a high-volume, automated production environment would be an advantage, but we're also open to candidates from broader maintenance backgrounds looking for a fresh challenge.
