Job Summary
The Sr Cost Accounting Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis to track the company’s cost reduction projects and programs, provide financial reporting and forecasting of manufacturing costs. The role has a strong emphasis on cost accounting, consisting of labor analysis, labor, and overhead rate calculations and standard cost updates. The role also includes inventory and intercompany reconciliations, the execution of other inventory and manufacturing SOX controls, and the coordination of cycle counts and physical inventories.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Direct responsibility for Company’s cost accounting and related month end close processes including preparation and analysis behind month end journal entries and account reconciliations;
2. Provide timely preparation, interpretation, and analysis of product costs, manufacturing variances & other cost of goods sold;
3. Provide warranty and E&O analysis;
4. Work with the Company’s auditors during annual audit, quarterly reviews, and SOX testing;
5. Utilize the company’s ERP/Accounting System software to analyze cost of goods sold;
6. Develop methods to streamline month/quarter end close processes in the cost accounting area;
7. Provide analysis and leadership in tracking Company’s cost reduction programs;
8. Interface with global operations and management teams to provide financial reporting and analytical support;
9. Lead teams to improve and streamline Operations’ cost activities;
10. Provide analysis and leadership in tracking Company’s cost reduction programs;
11. Participate in Quarterly/Annual forecast and budgeting;
12. Provide backup support for all cost accounting functions;
13. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned or requested.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
14. Eight or more years of Cost Accounting experience in a high-tech, high-volume manufacturing environment;
15. Ability to be a team member and adept in building and leading teams;
16. Ability to effectively interface with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Research & Development;
17. Must be a self-starter, a “hands-on” individual who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction;
18. Experience in working in both large structured and small entrepreneurial organizations; Sensitive to the constraints of a small- to mid-size, high growth operation and capable of working effectively in such an environment; must have flexibility in reacting to new situations and adaptability for working in a new environment;
19. Solid Excel skills are required as well as a high proficiency in standard job costing and variance analysis;
20. Excellent attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects;
Preferred Qualifications
21. Experience with intercompany profit and inventory;
22. Experience in medical product or lot controlled environment
23. Fluent in written and spoken Spanish
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent training and experience) is required. MBA or CPA is preferred
