Pulborough
Surrey County Council
Posted: 3 November
Offer description

Overview

As a qualified and warranted Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), you will undertake statutory duties as laid out in the Mental Health Act, the Care Act and as part of the AMHP service at Surrey County Council. AMHPs in our Community teams support frontline teams' rota and work within the community on casework to help individuals, carers and families develop support plans to meet identified outcomes using a strength-based approach and family/friends/community options where appropriate. The Frontline AMHP teams cover Surrey and are split into East and West sub teams. Assessments are allocated daily at 09:00 via an allocations call, with some assessments allocated in advance for later dates. In addition to assessments, frontline AMHPs will undertake the weekly Shift Lead role, screening referrals and allocating as appropriate, with support from the management team. You will be supported to contribute to the professional development of staff and students through supervision and training.

Surrey County Council is undergoing Local Government Reorganisation, moving from a two-tier system to new unitary councils in April 2027. If you are employed by Surrey on 1 April 2027, your role will transfer with current terms and conditions to one of these new councils, supporting local devolution and greater powers for our communities.
