Job Description
Are you a skilled engineer looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We're on the lookout for a proactive people, with either a mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled background to join our client's team. You'll play a key role in keeping the plant running smoothly, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance. We have various shifts available and salary dependant on experience and shift pattern; starting from £38000.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out both reactive breakdown repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.
* Diagnosing faults and identifying root causes to minimise downtime.
* Responsible for setting up and installation of machinery.
* Collaborating with colleagues across shifts to ensure seamless handovers and consistent communication.
* Supporting and mentoring new starters, sharing knowledge on fault finding and maintenance best practices.
* Interpreting technical manuals and engineering drawings to aid in troubleshooting.
* Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping at all times.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and suggesting enhancements to maintenance routines.
What We're Looking For
* Experience: 3-5 years in a multi-skilled maintenance role within a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Skills: Strong mechanical fault-finding skills. Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, light welding, and fabrication is a plus.
* Mindset: A logical thinker with a can-do attitude, who thrives under pressure and takes pride in delivering results.
* Team Player: Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-functional team.
Qualifications & Training
* NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Apprentice-trained (preferred).
* MEWP and Confined Space training beneficial - training can be provided.
