Assistant Finance AccountantClient: BAE SystemsLocation: Glascoed, South WalesDuration: 12 monthsHourly Rate: £16.27 PAYEWorking Arrangements: 1-2 days per week in the officeThe Opportunity This role will support core finance operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial control within a complex manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute within a high-performing finance function supporting critical defence programmes.Key Responsibilities
* Support month-end close activities including journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Assist in preparation of management accounts and financial reports
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes
* Assist with audit requirements and financial compliance activities
* Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies
* Work collaboratively with operational stakeholders to support cost control
About You
* Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience
* Experience in a manufacturing or complex corporate environment desirable
* Strong Excel and financial systems knowledge (e.g. SAP advantageous)
* Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
