About The Role: Days of Working: 5 days out of 7 to include weekend working, start and finish times to vary from 0700 - 1500, 0800 - 1600 and 1000 - 1800 As Team Leader Porters & Logistics at LCFT Guild Park, you’ll lead a frontline portering team to deliver a safe, reliable, and high‑quality service across the hospital. You will plan daily workloads against agreed SLAs, coordinate critical logistics, from pharmacy boxes and meal trolleys to laundry, mail, oxygen and gas bottles, and uphold rigorous health and safety standards in every task. Using tools such as auditing and Timegate, you’ll drive ISO‑aligned quality, ensure your team understands expectations, and keep the client informed through timely, professional communication. With proven portering/logistics experience, strong organisational skills, and a “can‑do” leadership style, you’ll set the tone for service excellence while safeguarding people, equipment, and processes. As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Ensure a high-quality service is delivered to the client at all times, in line with agreed specifications, SLAs, and company policies; complete all planned duties on time and maintain top standards of personal appearance/uniform. Assign and manage team tasks daily to meet the, operate and oversee collection/distribution of miscellaneous items and ad‑hoc requests. Organise and manage the flow of pharmacy boxes, laundry (collect dirty/distribute clean), mail and deliveries (including outgoing mail), oxygen and gas bottle distribution, meal trolley delivery/return, general rubbish collection, and clinical waste arrangements. Maintain H&S standards; review safe systems of work before tasks; ensure plant/equipment are fit for purpose; raise H&S concerns via company procedure; collaborate with Group H&S to implement safety initiatives and reflect a positive safety image. Ensure team members understand duties and performance expectations; deputise for the Line Manager when required; maintain adequate cover to meet service needs. Maintain ISO 9002 compliance where responsible; use key operating tools (e.g., auditing and Timegate); provide efficient feedback to the client on tasks/requests. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: Right to Work in the UK. Supervisory or management experience. NVQ Level 2 in Logistics Management desirable. Proven experience in portering and logistics (essential). Health & safety behaviours: Able to follow procedures, raise concerns via prescribed channels, and promote safety in all aspects of work. Customer focus, team working, specialist skills in organisation and control, strong communication and influencing; problem solving ability. Full UK driving licence, clean enhanced DBS.
