About The Role
Reporting to the FC, the Assistant Management Accountant supports the FC by managing P&L accounts, accruals/prepayments, and assisting the Operations finance team with fulfilment, labour, and expense costs. The role emphasizes core management accounting principles to ensure financial control and process accuracy. The role also involves acting as a subject matter expert and ensuring compliance with Group procedures and audit requirements.
Responsibilities
1. Own the month-end process for P&L and Balance Sheet, with attention to detail.
2. Manage month-end procedures, including accruals and prepayments.
3. Support invoice approvals for the Accounts Payable team.
4. Participate in financial planning and month-end activities proactively.
5. Attend divisional finance and stakeholder meetings as required.
6. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Identify process improvements and recurring issues.
8. Strive for best practice performance against KPIs.
Requirements
1. Working towards an accountancy qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE.
2. Experience in business partnering and cost accounting.
3. Hands-on management reporting experience in a large, complex organization.
4. Strong analytical and communication skills.
5. Ability to work with senior stakeholders.
6. Experience in fast-paced environments.
7. Capacity to manage high-volume workloads.
8. Fluency in English; additional European language skills are a plus.
9. Proficiency with Office IT, especially MS Excel.
10. Knowledge of ERP systems like Sage.
11. Positive attitude focused on customer service.
