Overview
Working for us, you will have the opportunity to work in a busy and exciting environment. You will be responsible for assisting our Cook in preparing nutritious and appetising meals whilst ensuring compliance with all aspects of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety. Other duties will include the setting up and clearing away of tables and general cleaning duties.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Cook in preparing nutritious and appetising meals in a busy environment.
* Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
* Set up and clear away tables; perform general cleaning duties as part of catering operations.
Qualifications
* The ability to build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
* Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
* Good communication and people skills.
* The ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
* A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
* Flexibility and the willingness to assist with other catering duties.
* Welsh language level - verbal Level 1 (basic knowledge of Welsh; reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level).
Other requirements
* Enhanced DBS check will be requested. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk.

Hours, Pay and Benefits
Salary: £25,390 for 21.25 hours per week / 4.25 hours per day. Hourly rate is £13.16. Working hours are Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks). The post is suitable to fit around family commitments and other roles. We operate an annualised pay scheme so staff who work term time are paid over 52 weeks.
