Motor Claims Handler - ULR Team

Department: Claims Management

Description

The claims handler will be responsible for managing a caseload of pre-litigated and Low Value Litigated Motor Claims for our Corporate clients. This role will be based in our ULR Motor Team.



Key Accountabilities

1. To effectively and efficiently manage a caseload of pre-litigated motor claims up to £25k, including high value/complex matters from inception to settlement.
2. To effectively and efficiently manage a caseload of litigated motor claims up to £10k.
3. Identify cases for early litigation with high prospects of success and low risk.
4. To support delivery of consistently high levels of service and productivity.
5. To work closely with colleagues within the firm to deliver consistently high levels of service.
6. To input accurate data and ensure data maintenance.
7. Interact and communicate with clients.
8. Mentoring, training and to be the technical referral point for other team members.



Working Hours

35 hours per week
Monday – Friday 9am – 5.00pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.
Primary location for this role is Liverpool. This role is a hybrid role working 1 day in the office and 4 days from home.



Experience, Skills and Qualifications

1. ULR RTA handling experience of pre-litigated matters is essential, litigation knowledge would be desirable.
2. Full Claim cycle experience, from initial quantum assessment, liability investigation and settlement negotiation.
3. Experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
4. Customer service experience.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Negotiation skills.
7. Communication skills.
8. Organisational skills.
9. Ability to mentor and support new starters.

Desirable:

1. Litigation claims handling.
2. Knowledge of Loss of Use/Loss of Standing Charge desirable.
3. Mentoring junior members of the team.
