*Job Overview*We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Driver to join our transportation team! We are a commercial garage. The majority of the driving will be collecting and delivering customers vehicles around the North West. You may also be asked to collect parts to and from suppliers. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a variety of commercial vehicles efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in driving, coupled with your mechanical knowledge and excellent communication skills will be vital. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy moving goods across routes with precision and professionalism, this role is perfect for you!*Duties** Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, box trucks, flatbeds, and specialized equipment such as tankers or dump trucks.* Present vehicles for MOT as required.* Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical soundness, and compliance with transportation regulations.* Load and unload vehicles for MOT using pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual handling techniques while adhering to safety protocols.* Maintain accurate documentation of collections, deliveries, pickups, mileage logs, and vehicle maintenance reports.* Communicate effectively with dispatch teams, clients, and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries seamlessly.* Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures diligently to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road.*Skills** Proven experience in commercial driving - HGV Class 1 license.* Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently; familiarity with automatic transmissions is a plus.* Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance checks on commercial vehicles.* Excellent communication skills for clear interactions with team members, clients, and emergency responders if needed.* Fork Lift Truck license is preferred but not essentialJob Type: Full-timePay: £15.00 per hourExpected hours: 47.5 per weekWork Location: In person
