**Job Title:** Chef
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the head/sous chef, ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
2. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and high-quality standards.
3. Ensure proper portioning, plating, and presentation of dishes, adhering to established recipes and guidelines.
4. Monitor and maintain food inventory levels, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
5. Provide leadership and guidance to kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
6. Train, mentor, and motivate team members, promoting skill development and career growth.
7. Conduct regular performance evaluations and address areas of improvement or training needs.
8. Collaborate with the Senior Sous Chef to schedule shifts, manage labor costs, and maintain staffing levels.
9. Assist in coordinating daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, production, and service.
10. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
11. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement standardized processes and procedures.
12. Monitor and control food costs through inventory management and portion control.
13. Work with the Executive Chef to create seasonal menus with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
14. Contribute to new recipe development, considering food trends and customer preferences.
15. Assist in planning and executing special events, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
16. Coordinate with front-of-house staff for seamless kitchen and dining area operations.
17. Respond promptly and professionally to client feedback and requests.
18. Participate in menu tastings and contribute to menu development based on guest feedback and market trends.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Chef or similar role.
* Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
* Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
