Overview
BIM Designer (2D / 3D) – Location: Office-based (Full-Time). Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience).
Responsibilities
* Produce high-quality 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for roofing and cladding systems
* Develop and manage BIM models across various project stages
* Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce detailed fabrication and installation drawings specific to roofing and cladding packages
* Collaborate with internal teams, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure design coordination
* Carry out clash detection and coordination using BIM tools
* Ensure all outputs comply with relevant industry standards and company procedures
* Maintain accurate project documentation and version control
* Support continuous improvement of BIM processes and workflows
Requirements
* Proven experience as a BIM Designer, CAD Technician, or similar role
* Essential: Demonstrable experience working on roofing and cladding projects
* Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar)
* Strong understanding of 2D and 3D design principles within the building envelope sector
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Good communication and teamwork abilities
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Desirable Skills
* Experience with metal roofing and façade systems
* Knowledge of BIM Level 2 standards and workflows
* Familiarity with fabrication or manufacturing drawings
* Understanding of construction sequencing and installation methods
