Strategy Education are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant with Midday Assistant duties.
About the Role
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southend is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the team. The role involves working closely with children in Key Stages 1 and 2, including pupils with autism and a range of additional learning needs. The LSA will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils to thrive academically, socially and emotionally in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support children with special educational needs, including autism, to access learning in class
*
Provide tailored assistance to help meet individual education and behaviour plans (EHCPs)
*
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour through structured support
*
Assist with adapting resources and activities to suit individual learning styles
*
Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO and parents to ensure pupils’ needs are met
*
Record and share observations on pupil progress and achievements
What We’re Looking For
*
Patience, empathy and understanding when working with children with SEN
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
*
Flexibility and initiative to adapt quickly in a busy classroom environment
*
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
*
Experience of supporting children in a school or childcare setting is desirable, but training can be provided
*
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Hours & Contract

Full-time / Part-time (term time only + INSET days)
