Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Bakery section, where you'll become a champion of our delicious baked goods. We're seeking passionate individuals with a love for baking and a deep understanding of bakery products to deliver fresh perspectives every day. You'll be a brand ambassador who's ready to recommend our delicious bakery products. Through remarkable service you'll make sure our customers feel truly valued every time they shop with us.

Key responsibilities include:

* Being ready to roll your sleeves up, work hard and go above and beyond every day to ensure our customers don't wait.
* Utilising our digital tools, such as the Sparks App, to enhance both the customer experience and ensure they get the products they want when they need them.
* Maintaining high standards in food safety and hygiene consistently while ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in your role.
* Being a team player and taking responsibility for creating a great inclusive store environment, supporting and respecting your colleagues and our customers.
* Working effectively across various areas of the store, adapting to the changing demands of the retail environment seamlessly.
* Serving our customers efficiently, both on the shop floor and at service points.
* Keeping the store clean and tidy, ensuring that our shelves are always stocked with product.
* Monitoring and delivering on the daily sales targets, priorities, promotions and selling opportunities.
* Proactively engaging with customers to understand their needs, making recommendations and delivering remarkable service throughout their visit to store.
* Building expert product knowledge to sell and recommend our products and services.

We're looking for individuals with:

* High levels of customer service.
* Commitment to delivering excellent work with great attention to detail.
* Openness to and action upon feedback, asking for this regularly.
* Strong communication skills.
* Adaptability to changing situations.
* Ability to build positive relationships by being a good listener.
* A good level of digital capability.
