Occupational Therapist (Dementia) – Antrim
Vanrath are delighted to be partnering with HSCNI to recruit on their behalf a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their community team.
In this role you will provide a comprehensive occupational therapy service within a variety of community settings for adults who have a diagnosis of dementia.
Responsibilities
* Carry a specific caseload to include complex clients with dementia and be responsible for organising and prioritising a varied workload.
* Assist Principal Occupational Therapist with the system for screening, prioritisation and allocation of cases within an agreed framework to include self‑allocation and discharge planning.
* Carry out and record comprehensive assessments, using standardised assessments where possible. Initiate and follow through training, treatment plans and provision of services, which will foster independence and/or optimise levels of functioning, and holistic needs within the client’s own environment.
* Maintain accurate records and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and outcomes.
* Communicate effectively with patients and ensure there is an understanding of their condition.
Essential Criteria
* Occupational Therapy Degree (UK recognised)
* HCPC Registered
* Member of RCOT or Unison
* Previous 2 years minimum OT experience

Salary
The salary on this role is in line with the HSCNI BAND 6 pay scales (pension & enhanced annual leave).
