We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Stores Person to support our busy production team.
This is a primarily hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be actively involved in receiving, moving, organising, and issuing stock to the production team.
While the role is largely physical, it also includes basic computer work and occasional telephone communication with suppliers and internal departments to coordinate deliveries, confirm stock availability, and resolve discrepancies.
This role also offers career progression opportunities, with scope to grow into a purchasing position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Receive, inspect, and unload incoming materials and components
* Verify deliveries against purchase orders and enter goods into the computer system
* Store and organise materials for efficient access and stock rotation
* Pick and issue parts to production teams in line with build schedules
* Managing Kanban and consumable items to the production team
* Maintain accurate stock records using the company's Sage 50 and CIM50 systems
* Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies
* Monitor stock levels and notify purchasing when items are running low
* Communicate with suppliers and freight companies regarding deliveries when required
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment
* Operate forklifts and material handling equipment (if licensed)
* Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing stores environment preferred
* Comfortable working in a physical, hands-on role
* Basic computer skills (data entry, inventory systems, email)
* Confident communicating via phone and in person
* Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
