What's involved with this role: Control Room CCTV Officer Job Ref: Brent 5284047 Pay Rate: £19.46 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 36 hours per week, Monday–Sunday, on a rota Contract length: This opening assignment is for 3 - 12 months, for the right candidate Location and postcode: Wembley, London, HA9 0FJ A Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2 police check SIA (Security Industry Authority) license Candidates must be available for immediate start The role: We are seeking a Control Room Officer, who ideally will have previously worked in a local authority setting but the team are open to other applicants too. Initially for 3 months with a view to extending to a 12 month contract, for the right candidate. Key accountabilities: Assist in the operations of the Borough Control Room 7 days a week and for ensuring that resources are deployed to facilitate effective service delivery Support the Council’s civil contingencies arrangements Assist as necessary in times of urgency. Operate the Council’s Closed Circuit Television systems, and ensure delivery of an effective CCTV service and to co-operate with outside agencies in relation to CCTV information and evidence in line with Data Protection and Human Rights legislation. Ensure the integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained is secure at all times by compliance with appropriate legislation (such as the Data Protection Act 1998) and the Council's CCTV code of practice, and in line with ICO code of practice and SCC code of practice. Key requirements: A Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2 police check SIA (Security Industry Authority) license Use of Microsoft Office – specifically Excel and Word BTEC Level 2 CCTV course in Public Space Surveillance or equivalent training or qualification, or equivalent experience Knowledge of the council’s emergency response arrangements Knowledge of CCTV operating procedures and associated requirements Knowledge of legal requirements and council policies relating to the use, dissemination and securing of information, data and evidence A good understanding of the emergency services’ roles and the way in which the Council can provide high level support in an emergency and day to day operations Knowledge and good awareness of control room and radio procedures How to Apply Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
