A high growth venture capital backed cleantech manufacturing business based in Southampton, is looking to hire a Finance Manager to work an all round finance role. They are looking for an ambitious, commercially-minded accountant to blend core accounting expertise (month-end, year-end) with high-impact cost analysis and strategic business partnering across all departments. Key Responsibilities
Financial Control:
* Own the entire month-end and year-end close process.
* Prepare statutory accounts and lead the annual audit.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Commercial Analysis & Strategy:
* Develop and manage FP&A (Forecasting, Budgeting) models.
* Perform in-depth cost accounting and manufacturing variance analysis.
* Produce detailed investor and board reporting packs.
Business Partnering:
* Act as the primary financial business partner to Operations, Engineering, and Sales teams.
* Drive process and system improvements across the finance function.
What You Need
Qualification: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) essential.
Experience:
* Proven experience in a hands-on, end-to-end finance role.
* Strong background in manufacturing or product-based business; familiarity with cost accounting is critical.
* Experience in a high-growth, SME, or VC-backed environment is beneficial.
* Skills: Excellent analytical ability, advanced Excel/modelling skills, and strong communication.
