Description NSF is a global public health and safety organisation with a mission to improve human and planet health. We work with clients across the food supply chain to deliver trusted certification, auditing, testing and advisory services worldwide. We’re looking for a Technical Scheme Lead to take ownership of our beef and lamb certification schemes, acting as the technical authority and trusted point of contact for scheme owners, auditors, colleagues and customers. In this role, you’ll be the go‑to expert for beef and lamb production and livestock supply chains. You’ll ensure schemes are technically robust, audits are consistent and high quality, certification decisions are sound, and NSF’s reputation is protected. This is a senior individual contributor role — you won’t manage a team, but you’ll have significant influence across auditors, technical teams, scheme owners and customers. It is a 12 Month Fixed-Term, with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities Acting as the technical lead for beef and lamb certification schemes Providing expert technical advice to scheme owners, auditors and internal teams Reviewing audit reports and ensuring timely, accurate certification decisions Managing non‑conformances, suspensions and withdrawals in line with scheme rules Supporting auditor training and calibration alongside Audit Delivery teams Producing quality, certification and management reports for internal and external stakeholders Managing complaints or issues with a strong focus on reputational risk Supporting accreditation activities and scheme maintenance Working with Sales to support growth and new business opportunities Representing NSF at industry events and stakeholder meetings when required Qualifications At least 5 years’ experience in beef, lamb or related livestock assurance or certification schemes Strong technical knowledge of agricultural production and good agricultural practice Experience working with or within third‑party certification schemes Confidence making and defending technical decisions HND or Degree in Agriculture (or a related subject) Excellent written and verbal communication skills These are a huge plus: Lead Assessor qualification Training qualification Experience supporting or calibrating auditors Comfortable managing challenging technical or reputational conversations Notice to Agency and Search Firm Representatives: Please note that NSF is not accepting unsolicited resumes from agencies and search firms for this role.
