Summary
* This is a 4-month contract with a local authority, where the Advanced Practitioner will provide high-quality, person-centred safeguarding services to adults at risk. The role is crucial in ensuring timely and effective responses to referrals, supporting the team in managing a waiting list of safeguarding referrals, and applying professional expertise and leadership to complex cases.
Responsibilities
* Lead on complex safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014.
* Undertake risk assessments and develop protection plans in collaboration with service users, families, and partner agencies.
* Provide professional supervision and support to less experienced staff.
* Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities and local safeguarding procedures.
* Maintain accurate and timely records using appropriate case management systems.
* Liaise with health professionals, police, housing, and other agencies to ensure coordinated safeguarding responses.
* Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Attend multi-agency meetings and represent the safeguarding team as required.
Essential Experience Required
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in adult social care.
* Proven experience in safeguarding adults and managing complex cases.
* Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
* Experience working in a multi-agency environment.
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Essential Qualification Required
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Enhanced DBS check required.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 37 hours per week.
* This is a hybrid role requiring flexibility to work from home, office, and attend client visits.
