About the Post
We invite applications for the position of Library Manager for the Library@Lightbox in Glassworks Square. This role offers an opportunity to broaden skills, extend responsibilities and gain experience in operational management within a highly performing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of library staff, ensuring clear direction, effective workload management and consistent communication.
* Manage staff absences and support recruitment processes.
* Identify and address training needs, contribute to staff development and workload planning.
* Uphold standards of conduct, wellbeing and positive organisational culture.
* Support the delivery of a varied programme of activities, outreach and events with community groups, partners, schools and other public services.
* Act as lead champion for national Universal Offers, contributing to service innovation and continuous improvement.
* Supervise volunteers, analyse customer feedback and performance data, support stock management processes and contribute to funding applications.
* Respond professionally to complex or escalated customer enquiries.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, health and safety, Council policies and procedures.
* Lead on the delivery of projects to improve the service, including externally funded initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong organisational skills, sound judgement, proactive approach and ability to work in a busy, evolving environment. Experience in staff management, community engagement and project delivery is desirable.
