Overview
An opportunity for a General Manager for the Maternity and Gynaecology Business Unit within the Women’s & Children’s Division. The General Manager will sit on the management team with the Matron and Clinical Director, providing visible leadership for the Business Unit and supporting the Divisional Director and Deputy in directing, guiding, and leading the unit’s management and strategic direction.
The role includes developing strategic plans and performance management frameworks to ensure delivery of key activity and financial targets, and engaging clinical managers in the management agenda to build capacity and capability to deliver local and national priorities. The right candidate will have extensive NHS operational management experience and be comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams to redesign and develop services while ensuring delivery of performance and quality.

Responsibilities
* Support the Divisional Director in directing and leading the business unit management team and in developing strategic plans and performance management frameworks.
* Ensure delivery of all key activity and financial targets.
* Engage clinical managers in the complex management agenda and develop capacity and capability to deliver local and national priorities.
* Provide leadership within the Maternity and Gynaecology Unit and work with multidisciplinary teams to redesign and develop services while maintaining performance and quality standards.
* Support ongoing initiatives and improvements across the maternity services in alignment with national recommendations and local priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive NHS operational management experience.
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver service redesigns with focus on performance and quality.

About the Trust

We provide antenatal and postnatal care for about 11,500 women annually, with a variety of pathways and specialties.
