We are seeking a reliable and resourceful Caretaker / Groundsman in Vale of Glamorgan to ensure the smooth running of our local community schools.
In this role, you will be responsible for completing maintenance tasks and minor repairs within the building, including painting, shelving, door handles, leaks, and lighting, to maintain a safe and functional environment. You will also be responsible for daily opening and closing of the buildings, ensuring that heating, lighting, and alarm systems are working correctly. Additionally, you will keep wash and toilet areas well-stocked and up to standards, check for fire safety compliance, and maintain the gardens and school grounds.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Previous experience as a caretaker or a hands-on background, such as factory or labour work
A proactive and can-do attitude towards work
Reliability
Excellent attention to detail
Initiative and knowledge of public safety and security
