Working Hours
* Standard hours: 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.
* Summer (26 weeks): 10-hour days.
* Winter (26 weeks): 9-hour days.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure an awareness of risks related to health and safety, hazards, and working at height.
* Fully comprehend and adhere to relevant national and company-specific regulations and standards.
* Maintain and promote safe working practices.
* Execute rigging tasks.
* Perform blocking (dressing) or clipping-in (suspension) on tension and suspension Line Towers.
* Undertake spacering and de-spacering activities.
* Safely operate a Spacer Trolley for the installation or removal of new/old spacers.
* Apply earthing schemes to Overhead Line (OHL) conductors.
* Safely use platforms, ladders, and plauders for work on tension, suspension, or line towers.
* Conduct jointing operations, such as socks, stockings, or permanent joints.
* Carry out jumpering tasks and in-situ steelwork replacement.
* Interpret and work from tower assembly and erection drawings.
* Install down leads in compliance with provided diagrams.
* Collaborate effectively within a team and adapt to dynamic working conditions.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
A minimum of three years of continuous experience in high-voltage overhead line transmission projects is essential. This experience should encompass:
* Working at height (up to 75m) on steel lattice towers.
* Maintenance of high-voltage transmission lines.
* High-voltage OHL tensioning and stringing.
* Tower assembly and erection using cranes or derricks (e.g., Falcon).
Desirable Attributes:
* Relevant formal qualifications.
* Experience as a puller/tensioner operator, erection operator, or tractor winch operator.
* A valid UK driving licence or an international driving permit (conversion support provided).
